My Top iOS Apps

  1. Calc – Free – A simple tape calculator. I use this instead of the stock calculator because it has a backspace and the tape.
  2. Convertr – $1.99 – Convertr will delight and surprise you with its level of polish and ease of use. It’s designed for fast, efficient, and visual unit conversion. Has a matching android version so I can have the same UI on other devices.
  3. CardStar – Free –  LIGHTEN YOUR WALLET and move your plastic loyalty cards, reward cards and membership cards to your phone so you never miss out on a reward, discount, or deal again. Just hand the cashier your phone and they can usually scan it or type the numbers in.
  4. Pocket – Free – When you find something on the web that you want to view later, put it in Pocket. It automatically syncs to your phone, tablet, or computer so you can view it any time, even without an internet connection.
  5. PlayOn Mobile – Free – Imagine catching up on your favorite TV series while waiting for a flight, or enjoying a sitcom during an oil change. Wherever your daily life takes you, PlayOn can entertain you. This app works with PlayOn software for your PC and works with iOS, Android, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DIRECTV boxes and more!
  6. TripCase – Free – Named “Best Travel App” by Business Week, and featured in USA Today, CNET and The Wall Street Journal. The best travel app on the iPhone. Set up your itinerary and get notified and notify friends, family, co-workers, clients, etc about travel delays automatically.
  7. NAVIGON USA – $49.99 – With NAVIGON you can turn your iPhone or iPad into a fully functional mobile navigation system. Navigon is easily the best out there with fresh maps, traffic, lane guidance, the ability to navigate to contacts, point-of-interest searching, etc. Everything you would expect in a GPS and then some.
  8. Waze social GPS & traffic – Free – When you download Waze, you not only get a free traffic & navigation app, but also become part of the local driving community in your area, joining forces with other drivers nearby to outsmart traffic, save time, and improve everyone’s daily commute!
  9. NetNewsWire Premium – $4.99 – NetNewsWire is an RSS reader for iPhone — you can read news from the millions of weblogs and sites that publish RSS feeds. Because NetNewsWire syncs with Google Reader (Google account required) — and with NetNewsWire for Macintosh and FeedDemon for Windows by NewsGator — if you read an item on your iPhone, you don’t have to read it again your Macintosh or other computer. It’s automatically marked as read everywhere. There are some free RSS readers out there including a free version of NetNewsWire but when you have a 3 inch screen who has room for ads?
  10. Talkatone – Free –  Make free phone calls with google voice, gtalk, and facebook voip without a computer. Also supports texting.
  11. Quickoffice® Pro – $14.99 – The fully featured office app for iPhone. Also available on android. Create and edit word documents, excel spreadsheets, and powerpoint presentations on the go. Also, save and download work from every cloud account (ie. dropbox, box.net, mobileme, icloud, etc) that you’ve ever heard of.
  12. FastCustomer – Free – Seriously, you still wait on hold to talk to someone on some company’s customer service line? Are you seriously going to sit there holding  a phone up to your ear listening to elevator quality music for 30 minutes? You’re an idiot. Use FastCustomer to have them call you instead.
  13. Vlingo – Free – Vlingo lets you dictate things like text messages and email and send them automatically. Use with your hands free in your car or your bluetooth headset and stop typing everything.
  14. RedLaser – Free – When you’re at a store shopping do you ever wonder if the price tag on that item you’re looking to buy is the best price or is it cheaper online? Sure you could search for it in Mobile Safari to find out but who has time for that? Scan the barcode with Redlaser and find prices from all over the internet and other local stores.
  15. BeejiveIM with Push – $9.99 – Burning through your texting plan? Do you have to still use AIM, Yahoo messenger, or msn messenger to talk to different people because none of them will switch or get a texting plan? Use BeejiveIM to connect to all of those once-popular-and-now-people-won’t-let-them-die chat clients right from your iPhone.
